Mining & exploration.

Prospecting, exploration, quarry development, extraction and mineral marketing — chartered since 1998, and now backed by an owned earthmoving fleet and twenty-seven years of public-works delivery.

Our position

Mining was in the charter before it was in the market.

Clause 3 of our Memorandum of Association — filed with the Corporate Affairs Commission and restated under CAMA 2020 — puts mining and solid mineral exploration first among the objects for which A.H.I Agency Limited was established, ahead of building and civil engineering.

That was deliberate. Kebbi and the wider North-West sit on granite, limestone, quartzite and alluvial gold, and the constraint on developing them has rarely been geology. It has been finding contractors with the plant to strip overburden, the discipline to survey properly, and the balance sheet to finish a programme. Those are the three things we spent twenty-seven years building on roads and water schemes.

Where we stand today Our completed contract register is civil, water and supply work. The minerals practice is the deployment of that same plant, personnel and process into solid minerals — as operator, as contract miner to a title-holder, or as a joint-venture partner. We would rather say that plainly than dress it up.
Regulatory framework Mineral titles in Nigeria — reconnaissance permits, exploration licences, small-scale and mining leases, and quarry leases — are granted by the Mining Cadastre Office under the Nigerian Minerals and Mining Act 2007. We work inside that framework, on our own titles or alongside the holder of one.
Target commodities

What we look for.
What we can move.

Our chartered scope covers metallic and non-metallic minerals, precious metals, gemstones and quarry products. These are the groups our plant and market access actually suit.

Au · GoldGold

Alluvial and lode prospects. Chartered for exploitation, refining, and the import and export of gold in accordance with prevailing Nigerian law.

Agg · GraniteGranite & aggregate

The most immediate fit for our fleet: quarry development, drilling and blasting, crushing, and supply of chippings and construction stone.

CaCO₃ · LimestoneLimestone

Bulk industrial feedstock for cement, agricultural lime and construction. High-tonnage and haulage-intensive — the kind of contract our tippers were bought for.

Mrb · DimensionMarble & slate

Block extraction and finishing for architectural, monumental and decorative use, including polished dimension stone.

SiO₂ · SilicaQuartz & quartzite

Quartziferous minerals for industrial, glass-sand and refractory applications, within and outside Nigeria.

Gem · PreciousGemstones

Sourcing, grading and offtake of rough and polished gemstones, and representation of local producers to overseas buyers.

How a prospect is worked

Four stages. We skip none of them.

The sequence is the discipline we already apply to a road formation: survey it, prove it, build it, hand it over with records.

1

Reconnaissance

Desktop review, cadastral search, ground reconnaissance and community engagement. Establishes whether a title area justifies an exploration spend at all.

2

Exploration

Grid survey, pitting and trenching, channel and bulk sampling, accredited assay, and a resource statement the holder can finance against.

3

Development

Access roads, overburden stripping, bench design, drilling and blasting, shaft development, loading and haulage — our plant, our operators.

4

Offtake

Crushing and grading, product marketing to local industry, and representation of producers to overseas buyers as agents or distributors.

Why our fleet transfers

Roadbuilding plant is mining plant.

There is no equipment gap between building a 54 km road formation and opening a quarry bench. Our entry cost into minerals is a licence and a survey, not a capital programme.

How we intend to operate

Mining a community still welcomes in year ten.

Licensed ground only

We operate on ground held under a valid mineral title, ours or a partner's, with the Mining Cadastre Office position verified before any plant moves.

Host-community agreement

Access, compensation and local employment settled with the host community and traditional authority in writing, before extraction — not after a dispute.

Progressive rehabilitation

Benches profiled, waste dumps stabilised and worked-out ground reinstated as the face advances, so closure is a formality rather than a liability.

We have never handed back a site we would not be happy to drive past ten years later. Minerals will be no different.

Holding a title you cannot work?

We take on contract mining, quarry development and exploration programmes for title-holders, and enter joint ventures where the ground justifies it. Tell us what you hold and where.
